Pre-production: Evaluation of 'The Breakfast club'

Evaluation: The camera holder struggled with balancing on the tripod on certain camera angles which made the film appear imbalance and unprofessional. Moreover, the focus of the camera was extremely poor as the scenery was dark which affected the audiences' ability to view the actors. Additionally, the camera angles could have been more diverse to make the film appear more interesting to the audience. Some scenes of the film were cut out while editing the video so as a result of this, the full video was unable to show. This is an issue in which we as a group will address through naming our clips next time we make a video. To include, our acting skills were inadequate as we were too shy to project our voice louder. In terms of editing, the cutting pace was too fast which made the film appear non professional as everything appeared rushed. Yet, some of our group members argued that a fast cutting pace was effective as it was relevant to the classification of the play which was drama. Moreover, a fast cutting pace was effective in adding "tension" to the short film. Additionally such camera shots including the close up shot of my Partner who played Andrew were not shot firmly which made it harder for the audience to distinguish what kind of camera shot was placed.

Strengths
Our editing skills were quite effective as we managed to produce a creative, ink title and colourful credits at the end which made our short film look distinctive from the rest.We also got along really well as a team as their was little complains and disputes about who wants to be who etc. Furthermore, the sound produced on the voice recorder was successfully added as previously we could not find our sound document due to the mistake of not naming our sound. At first we filmed our extract in the canteen however, due to the canteen being soon to be closed we managed to secure the location of stairways near the performing arts block. This new location was beneficial for us as a group as we were able to have more space to perform the stage directions and the location was not as crowded.
